Humidity harm to photo equipment Dry Cabinet for Camera Dry Box Camera Lens Film Storage Cabinet
Humidity is invisible to the naked eyes and is the greatest enemy of photography equipment. Condensation can occur on lens surfaces and internal circuit boards. When condensation sets, it could lead to problems with mold, corrosion, decay, oxidation, rust and other moisture-related deterioration on all photo equipment.

As condensation collect over time, fungus, rust, oxidation, and mold begins to develop. Before long performance issues and failures will appear. The damage caused by humidity does not distinguish from equipment manufacturer or any particular fields. All are susceptible to the harm caused by humidity.

Eureka Dry Tech's Moisture Control Solution for Photography, Cinematography and Optical Equipment
Most common causes of photography and cinematography equipment damage are fungus development on lens, lens glue separation, worn-off coating, aperture failure, focus ring too tight, lens oil leakage, infinity focus failure, dust particles, and damaged coating.
As optical lenses are exposed to more than 60% RH, they are threaten by fungus, which causes irreversible damages such as etching on the lens. Fungus develops and proliferated at 60%RH & 12℃~38℃. The rate of fungus growth will speed up at 80%-95% RH. Once fungus develops on the lens, the photos/images taken will lose significant resolution and quality.
When not in use, photography and cinematography equipment should be stored in an environment with a humidity range between 40%-50% RH.

Stable and Consistent Storage System
With Eureka Dry Tech's Auto Dry Cabinet & Auto Dry Box products, there are no consumable parts to worry about. Humidity levels are automatically maintained at the optimal storage environment of 40%~50%RH. Simply store all of your equipment immediately returning from the field and remove the any moisture absorbed. Eureka's Auto Dry Box moisture control technology will do all the work while maintaining your equipment in optimal storage conditions when not in use.

Films, whether acetate and nitrate, WILL deteriorate over time! Whether slowly or rapidly depends on the temperature and RH of the storage environment. Acetate films will begin to degrade in about 50 years at ideal conditions. However, periods of higher temperature or relative humidity will accelerate the process. Only cold and dry environment will slow it down. Newly processed film stored in cool (72°F/21°C or less) or cold (50°F/or 10°C or less) at moderate RH (20% to 50%) can be expected to last for centuries. The same film stored under poor conditions may last only a few decades.

The good news is that Eureka's dry cabinet products can protect your photos, films, negatives, and other work products from moisture damage and ferrotyping on top of each other or on to protective sleeves. Film-based collections with proper storage environment will minimize the risk of decay-related damage.

Eureka Auto Dry Box and Dry Cabinet's advantage over traditional storage methods are:
No consumable parts or desiccant bags to replace.
Fully automatic operation, simply set to desired RH% level and store your equipment.
No water tanks to empty, maintenance and worry free operation.
Continues to absorb moisture even during power outtages.
Consumes minimal electricity.
Optical lenses, digital-controllers, sensors, and processors should be protected in an environment maintained at 40% ~ 50% RH with automatic control. Simply set the desired RH level and place your equipment in our Auto Dry Box and let Eureka's desiccating technology take care of the rest.
Eureka Auto Dry Box is the best solution and simplest way to keep your photography and video production equipment from fungus development, dust, and moisture damages.
